Carolin Hofmann is remarkable for her special ability to create magnificently balanced Rieslings. She's also respected for her calm demeanor as well as the tremendous wealth of practical knowledge she has gathered over the years: "I've grown more consistent and fundamentally more daring when it comes to winemaking," she notes.

Carolin Hofmann lets her grapes hang on the vines until late autumn, and her top Rieslings mature in the barrel for almost a full year. This is her secret for tackling the Saar's infamous high acidity and creating harmonious, distinctive, and slate-laced Rieslings.
